Counter-Expertise — verify the facts, strengthen your position
Not every investigation has been carried out completely or correctly. We review existing reports, statements and findings for accuracy — and provide you with the ammunition to expose weaknesses.

Counter-Expertise
Investigation reports are often taken as truth — but not every investigation has been conducted carefully, completely or without bias. As an attorney, you know that the quality of the evidence makes all the difference. Counter-expertise gives you the opportunity to have existing research critically reviewed by an independent party. We assess the methodology, the sources and the conclusions — and deliver a well-founded report that enables you to expose weaknesses in the opposing party's evidence.
What we investigate
What do we review?
We assess existing investigation reports on methodology (correct standards and methods?), source verification (reliable and up to date?), completeness (all facts taken into account?), logical consistency (do conclusions follow from the findings?) and factual accuracy (do the facts match registers and documents?).
When should you use this?
Counter-expertise is deployed in criminal law (review of police investigations, forensic evidence), civil law (damage reports, valuation reports), employment law (investigation reports on underperformance), insurance law (fraud reports, damage assessments) and administrative law (reports underlying administrative decisions). We report objectively, even if the original investigation proves to be correct.
How does the investigation work?
We study the report and identify research questions, methods and conclusions.
We determine which aspects will be evaluated and against which standards.
Where necessary, we conduct our own research by re-consulting sources.
You receive a point-by-point assessment with substantiated critique and alternative interpretations.
